This week I cornrowed X's in the front, 1 row of straight back cornrows and the rest in box braids (I did a short cut). We washed and conditioned with our beloved Mixed Chicks, moisturized with Giovanni Direct Leave In mixed with water and sealed with castor oil, oiled scalp with our oil mix and banded to dry overnight. Then styled with Taliah Waajid Kinky, Wavy Natural Herbal Style and Shine. The hubs really liked how this style came out (he normally likes everything but has never been so verbal), I was hoping she didn't look too "boyish" with all her cornrows going to the back, but alas she's still cute and as girlish as she can get, being the big ol'tomboy she is! Gotta love her though! We hope you likey! Happy styling!
Here is Kurly boy and Kurly T. The pic on the right was taken 2 weeks after her style, you see how her "halo" is making it's appearance. I'll tame it one day!

ReplyDelete@ Andrea: Maybe I should correct myself and say "I took a shortcut". I'm scared that if she sees scissors near her hair she will end up cutting off a braid or 5! Instead of cornrowing all the hair I did a few rows of box braids. That was my shortcut. I'm not sure when I'll do a trim. How do you know when one is needed? I'm still new to the kurly scene. Help!
